2009!

Here’s to the new year… May it be better than the last

Good New Year resolves are in style.
The bulk of them force us to smile.
Were I making one now
I should certainly vow
I’ll only drink once in a while.

“Stir the eggnog, lift the toddy, Happy New Year, everybody.” -Phyllis McGinley
“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.” -Bill Vaughn

Hello Gary……I just registered on your site, but Im not sure how to start a new post…..so I will just leave you all a tumor update in this category.

I went to my neurology appointment Friday, and the news was quite sobering. I dont have many options, in fact the ones I do have may not be an option OR too dangerous.

I was told my 1st option is to do nothing, and just wait and see what my tumor does to me. He told me at the rate it’s growing and given my age of 47, it will keep growing.

My 2nd option is to have surgery NOW, however, my weight may not allow this option. He told me that most hospitals dont have tables that allow that much weight, but he will check around the Puget Sound area and see what he can find. He told me it doesn’t look good.

My 3rd option is radiation treatment, when they blow the tumor up with high does of radiation. However, the cut off point is 3 centimeters, and my tumor is past that now. That surgery could be extremely dangerous given the size of the tumor, and could leave me paralyzed for life.

Any help any one can offer, I would truly appreciate it. I am trying not to panic, but the situation grows grim by the day.

    Thanks alot.

    -Wallace
