National Western Stock Show
Every January the Stock Shows rolls into town. With it comes top bull riders, draft horses and prize beef. This year, in the junior auction, the top hog sold for $16,000 and the top cow sold for $27,000. The money goes into a scholarship for the kids to go to college. Two years ago we went to the ‘Super Dog’ show. It is a obstacle course, retrieving, high-jumping show for dogs. One dog was able to jump over a 7 foot fence!
This year we decided to walk around and show Isabel the animals. She really enjoyed walking through the paddock with all the cows. They were getting baths and haircuts, which she thought was pretty funny. They also had a petting zoo set up for the kids.
The horse above is called Samson. His back was about 6 feet tall!!
